چکیده

The removal of chlorobenzene using a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactor coupled with CuO/γ-Al2O3 catalysts was investigated in this paper. coupling CuO enhanced the degradation and complete oxidation ability DBD reactor, especially under low voltage conditions. characterization catalyst carried out to understand interaction between plasma discharge. effects flow rate power on these parameters were analyzed response surface model (RSM). analysis variance applied evaluate significance independent variables their interactions. results show that interactions are not negligible for chlorobenzene. Moreover, based byproducts, 4-chlorophenol discriminated as important intermediate degradation, speculative decomposition mechanism is explored.

Catalytic Abatement of Nitrous Oxide Coupled with Ethane Oxydehydrogenation over Mesoporous Cr/Al2O3 Catalyst

Waste nitrous oxide (N2O) was utilized as an oxidant for ethane oxydehydrogenation reaction at the temperature range from 450 ◦C to 700 ◦C over the mesoporous Cr/Al2O3 catalyst synthesized via the one-pot evaporation-induced self-assembly (EISA) method. The catalyst was characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and nitrogen adsorption-desorption analysis. The obtaine...

The CuCl2/Al2O3 Catalyst Investigated in Interaction with Reagents

Alumina supported CuCl2, the basic catalyst for ethylene oxychlorination, has been investigated by UV-Vis spectroscopy, EPR, EXAFS and XANES in a wide range (0.25-9.0 wt%) of Cu concentration. We have evidenced that, at low Cu content, the formation of a surface aluminate species takes place. The formation of this surface copper aluminate stops at 0.95 wt% Cu / 100 m; at higher Cu concentration...

Catalytic Oxidation of Naphthalene Using a Pt/Al2O3 Catalyst with Ozone

This study investigated the application of catalytic oxidation process with ozone to decompose polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The process is noted as ozone-catalytic oxidation (OZCO). Naphthalene (Nap), which is the simplest and lowest toxic PAH, was taken as a target compound. The emission of Nap to the atmosphere was generally found from waste incineration or diesel engine combustio...

Elimination of formaldehyde over Cu-Al2O3 catalyst at room temperature.

Catalytic elimination of formaldehyde (HCHO) was investigated over Cu-Al2O3 catalyst at room temperature. The results indicated that no oxidation of HCHO into CO2 occurs at room temperature, but the adsorption of HCHO occurs on the catalyst surface. With the increase of gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) and inlet HCHO concentration, the time to reach saturation was shortened proportionally. The ...

Creation of Pd/Al2O3 Catalyst by a Spray Process for Fixed Bed Reactors and Its Effective Removal of Aqueous Bromate

Palladium nanoparticles were grown on sub-millimeter activated Al2O3 particle support by spraying H2PdCl4 solution evenly onto the support, followed with a thermal reduction under H2 atmosphere. Compared with its counterpart created by the conventional impregnation method, the Pd/Al2O3 catalyst created by the spray process could enrich the existence of active Pd nanoparticles on the surface of ...
